How do I create an account?
You can sign up in two ways:
Email & Password – Enter your email, create a password, and verify your email address
Social Sign-In – Use your existing Google, Facebook, Apple, or Amazon account for instant access
Both methods are equally secure and give you full access to all features.
Can I use multiple sign-in methods for the same account?
Yes! Once you create an account with any method, you can add other sign-in options later. For example:
Sign up with Google, then add email/password login
Sign up with email/password, then add Facebook login
Use any combination of Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, and email/password
All methods link to the same account automatically when you use the same email address.
I signed up with Google. Can I also sign in with email and password?
Yes! If you originally signed up with a social account (Google, Facebook, etc.) and want to add password login:
1. Go to the sign-in page
2. Click “Forgot Password”
3. Enter your email address
4. Follow the instructions to set a password
After that, you can sign in with either your social account or email/password.
What if I use different email addresses for different providers?
Each email address creates a separate account. For the best experience, we recommend using the same email address across all your sign-in methods. This ensures all your data stays in one account.
Can I use my Apple “Hide My Email” address?
Yes, you can sign up with Apple’s private relay email addresses. However, please note:
This creates a unique account tied to that specific Apple email
You won’t be able to link other sign-in methods to this account
If you want to use multiple sign-in options, we recommend using your regular email address instead
Do I need to verify my email?
– Email/Password signup: Yes, you’ll receive a verification email. Click the link to activate your account.
– Social sign-in (Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon): No, your account is verified instantly because your social provider has already confirmed your email.
I didn’t receive a verification email. What should I do?
1. Check your spam/junk folder
2. Wait a few minutes – sometimes emails are delayed
3. Make sure you entered the correct email address
4. Contact our support team if you still don’t see it
How long is the verification link valid?
Verification links are typically valid for 24 hours. If yours expires, you can request a new one.
Is there a minimum age to sign up?
Yes, you must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Why do you ask for my date of birth?
We ask for your date of birth in certain cases to:
– Verify you meet the minimum age requirement
– Link your account to an invitation from a family member or friend
– Provide age-appropriate features and content
Your date of birth is kept private and secure.
I received an invitation link. How do I use it?
1. Click the invitation link (or copy it into your browser)
2. Sign up using your email/password or social account
3. If prompted, enter your date of birth
4. Complete the sign-up process
Your account will be automatically connected to the person who invited you.
The invitation link says my information doesn’t match. What’s wrong?
If you’re using an invitation link that was created for a specific person:
– Make sure you’re using the correct email address
– Verify you’ve entered your date of birth correctly (format: YYYY-MM-DD, e.g., 1990-05-15)
– Check that you’re at least 13 years old
If you continue having issues, contact the person who sent you the invitation.
Do invitation links expire?
Yes, invitation links are typically valid for 14 days. If your link has expired, please ask the person who invited you to send a new one.
Can I change my sign-in method later?
Yes! You can add or remove sign-in methods at any time in your account settings.
Important: We strongly recommend setting up at least two sign-in methods so you can always access your account if one method becomes unavailable.
What happens if I sign in with Google after signing up with email?
If you use the same email address, we’ll automatically link them together. You’ll have one account accessible through both methods. Your data, preferences, and settings remain exactly the same.
Is it safe to use social sign-in?
Yes! Social sign-in is secure and often more convenient:
– We never see your social media password
– We only receive basic information (name, email)
– You can disconnect social accounts anytime
– Social providers (Google, Facebook, etc.) use advanced security
What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. When enabled, you’ll need to provide two things to sign in:
1. Something you know – Your password or social account
2. Something you have – A verification code sent to your phone via text message
This means even if someone steals your password, they still can’t access your account without your phone.
Should I enable MFA on my account?
We strongly recommend enabling MFA for these reasons:
– Better security – Protects against password theft and unauthorized access
– Peace of mind – Your sensitive information stays safe even if your password is compromised
– Industry standard – MFA is considered essential security for any account with important data
However, before enabling MFA, make sure you:
– Have reliable access to your phone number and can receive text messages
– Have set up at least one backup sign-in method (social sign-in like Google or Facebook)
– Keep your email address up to date for account recovery
How do I enable MFA?
To turn on Multi-Factor Authentication:
1. Sign in to your account
2. Go to Settings → Security
3. Click Enable Multi-Factor Authentication
4. Enter and verify your phone number
5. You’ll receive a text message with a verification code
6. Enter the code to complete setup
7. Important: Before completing setup, make sure you have alternative sign-in methods configured (see below)
What if I can’t access my MFA method?
If you lose access to your MFA method (phone or authenticator app), you have these options:
1. Use alternative sign-in methods – If you’ve set up social sign-in (Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon), you can sign in with those instead
2. Account recovery via email – We can help you recover your account through email verification
3. Contact support – Our team can help you regain access after verifying your identity
This is why we strongly recommend:
– Setting up multiple sign-in methods (email/password AND social sign-in) before enabling MFA
– Keeping your email address up to date, as it’s your primary recovery method
– Making sure you can always access the email associated with your account
How do I disable MFA?
To turn off Multi-Factor Authentication:
1. Sign in to your account (you’ll need to complete MFA to sign in)
2. Go to Settings → Security
3. Click Disable Multi-Factor Authentication
4. Confirm your choice
Note: If you’ve lost access to your MFA method and cannot sign in, see the “Account Recovery & Lockouts” section below.
I lost my phone and can’t complete MFA. What do I do?
If you can’t access your MFA method:
1. Try alternative sign-in methods – If you set up social sign-in (Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon), you may be able to sign in that way without needing MFA
2. Use account recovery – Click “Forgot Password” or “Can’t access MFA?” on the sign-in page, and we’ll send a recovery link to your email
3. Contact support – If the above options don’t work, email support@escendant.ai with:
– Your account email address
– Explanation of the situation
– Any information that can help verify your identity
Our support team will help you regain access and can disable MFA so you can set it up again with a new phone number or method.
Can I change my MFA phone number?
Yes! To update your MFA phone number:
1. Sign in to your account (using your current MFA)
2. Go to Settings → Security → Multi-Factor Authentication
3. Click Change Phone Number
4. Enter and verify your new phone number
5. You’ll receive a verification code to confirm the change
Important: Do this BEFORE you lose access to your old phone number.
I’ve lost access to my phone number. Can I still recover my account?
If you’ve lost access to the phone number associated with your account and cannot receive verification codes (OTP), you’ll need assistance from our support team.
To regain access:
1. Email our support team at support@escendant.ai
2. Include:
– The email address associated with your account
– Any alternate sign-in methods you have set up (Google, Facebook, etc.)
– A brief explanation of why you can’t access your phone number
3. Our team will verify your identity and help you recover your account
Prevention tip: Set up multiple sign-in methods (email/password, Google, Facebook, etc.) before you lose access. This way, you can always sign in using an alternative method.
I can’t access my email or phone number anymore. What do I do?
If you’ve lost access to both your email and phone number, please contact our support team immediately:
– Email: support@escendant.ai (from any email address)
– Provide as much information as possible about your account to help us verify your identity
We’ll work with you to verify your identity and restore access to your account.
I’m locked out of my account. How can I get back in?
First, try these options:
1. If you have multiple sign-in methods: Try signing in with Google, Facebook, Apple, or Amazon if you set those up
2. If you forgot your password: Use the “Forgot Password” link
3. If you can’t receive email verification: Check your spam folder, wait a few minutes, or try requesting another email
If none of these work, contact our support team at support@escendant.ai with:
– Your account email address
– Description of what happens when you try to sign in
– Any error messages you’re seeing
Why is setting up multiple sign-in methods important?
Having multiple ways to access your account protects you from getting locked out if:
– You lose access to your phone number
– Your email account is compromised or closed
– You can’t access a specific social account
– You forget your password
We strongly recommend:
– Adding at least 2-3 sign-in methods to your account
– Keeping your email and phone number up to date
– Making sure you can access the email associated with your account
Can I update my phone number or email address?
Yes! You can update your contact information in your account settings at any time. We recommend doing this immediately if:
– You change phone numbers
– You get a new email address
– Your old email or phone is no longer accessible
Important: Before removing old contact information, make sure you’ve verified the new information and added alternative sign-in methods.
I’m getting an error: “An account already exists with this email”
This means you’ve already created an account using that email address. Try:
1. If you signed up with a social account: Use the same social sign-in button (Google, Facebook, etc.)
2. If you forgot your password: Click “Forgot Password” to reset it
3. If you’re unsure which method you used: Try the “Forgot Password” option or try signing in with each social provider
I can’t remember which sign-in method I used
No problem! Try these steps:
1. Go to the sign-in page
2. Try clicking “Sign in with Google” and other social buttons
3. If those don’t work, use “Forgot Password” with your email address
Why can’t I sign up with my email?
Common reasons include:
– An account already exists with that email (try “Forgot Password”)
– The email format is invalid
– The email provider is not accepted
– You’re under 13 years old
If none of these apply, please contact our support team.
What information do you collect when I sign up?
We collect only what’s necessary:
– Email address – To create your account and send important updates
– Name – To personalize your experience
– Date of birth (when required) – To verify age requirements
– Social profile info (if using social sign-in) – Basic information like name and email
We never share your personal information with third parties without your permission.
Can I delete my account later?
Yes, you can delete your account at any time from your account settings. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
What happens to my data if I use multiple sign-in methods?
All your sign-in methods access the same account and data. There’s no duplication – your information stays unified regardless of how you sign in.
